Jermale Hines over Quinton Carter? I really like Jermale Hines’s upside, but the fact that he spent most of his senior season coming off of the bench really hurts his stock in my opinion, especially when compared to a frequently productive All-American safety in Carter, who I consider to be the 3rd-best overall safety behind Moore and McDaniel.
I think Hines upside is pretty capped. He is a bit limited athletically, but he is a very smart Safety. High Football IQ, always around the ball, great team leader.
Carter is average athletically as well. I also don’t see anything from him as a ballhawk. He belongs as a Strong Safety and in the box. He can lay the wood and is solid when the action is in front of him, but I don’t see the ability for Carter to be a Free Safety at the next level.
You are missing a fast climbing safety – Rory Foley of Marist College ( Pioneer LEague) All time program tackle leader- nuber three in FCS interceptions in 2008. Tremendous pro days Spring 2011 Fordham and Boston College 4.55 40 and 27 reps in 225 bench. Potentially gane changing special teams player.
