Five Prospects Declare Their Draft Attendance

Miller will be in court April 6 as part of the lawsuit and at Radio City Music Hall on April 28 for the draft.

Alabama wide receiver Julio Jones, Iowa defensive end Adrian Clayborn, LSU’s cornerback Patrick Peterson, Texas A&M’s Von Miller and Southern California offensive tackle Tyron Smith are all expected to attend the 2011 NFL Draft.

All but Peterson have officially confirmed, but Peterson’s agent said that it’s been “a lifelong dream” and he plans to attend the draft with his family. NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora said that 20 players were given invitations to attend the draft live. Washington’s Jake Locker said that he received an invitation but will attend the draft.

Perhaps the most interesting player to accept a draft invite is Texas A&M’s Von Miller. Miller is a plaintiff in an antitrust lawsuit against the league. So he’s basically going to court against someone who will draft him in the same month.

According to La Canfora, other prospects to receive draft invites are Alabama defensive lineman Marcell Dareus and running back Mark Ingram, Clemson defensive end Da’Quan Bowers, Auburn defensive lineman Nick Fairley and Nebraska cornerback Prince Amukamara.
