The NFL likes to make an event out of the NFL Draft and one of the ways they do that is by inviting incoming prospects to appear at the draft.
These players appear on stage when their name is called, shake hands with the commissioner, and wear the hat and the jersey with #1 on it. Usually there are are just a little over 10 people who attend the draft, last year there were 17, but this year the NFL has set a record high 25 players.

The 2011 NFL Draft will begin on Thursday night, April 28 at 8 p.m. ET with round one. Most of those names are projected to go within the first round while some are projected to go into the early second round. Players such as Ryan Williams or Randall Cobb might have to wait until April 29 at 6 p.m. for round two to begin.
