Kenny Britt Retires, Unretires, Then Says he was Hacked

In one of the more bizarre situations of the day Tennessee Titans receiver Kenny Britt retired, cursed at the commissioner, unretired, apologized, and claimed he was hacked all in the same day.

Kenny Britt will likely face a suspension once the NFL season begins.

It all started with a tweet from Brendan Prunty of the Newark Star-Ledger who tweeted that Britt put the following statement as his Facebook status.

“Retiring from the NFL. F*** You Goddell.”

That’s the type of status that makes headlines. The status was deleted from Britt’s account and was followed by another status update.

“Change of Heart.. My family is always here for me. I made mistakes and i am sorry I am going to change and become a better person and mentor for all my young fans. I will accept any penalty like a man. The road beings Sept 11 in Jacksonville.. I’ll be ready!!!”

Okay, but what about the whole F the commissioner business? I’m sure he wouldn’t like that. Oh wait, another status update?

“My fbook was hacked with those past 2 status’s.. I am not retiring and do not have any hate toward the commissioner.”

Ah, the Anthony Weiner defense. I WAS HACKED! In Weiner’s case he ended up not being hacked, but I have to think that Britt is telling the truth here. Either that or he is extremely stupid. What NFL player in their right mind would post something like that? It seems highly unlikely.

Either way, Britt has been arrested twice in the past 3 months which means he’ll probably face some sort of suspension once the NFL season begins. It’s hard to determine how long, but considering the the crimes, I doubt it’s too long.
