Arian Foster, Texans agree on five-year, $43.5M extension

The Houston Texans are going to keep Arian Foster.

The Texans and Foster agreed on a five-year $43.5 million extension with $20.75 guaranteed. Foster was set to become a restricted free agent and was likely to receive the franchise tag.

The contract makes Foster the third highest running back in the league behind only Adrian Peterson (seven years, $96M) and Chris Johnson (six years, $55.26M).

The 25-year old running back has made the Pro Bowl the past two seasons. In 2010 he led the NFL in rushing yards and last season he rushed for 1,224 yards despite missing three games.
