NFL players getting arrested seems to be a common theme in the NFL lately. The newest victim is Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch, who was arrested on suspicion of DUI according to Mercury News.
The reports states that Lynch was taken to Santa Rita Jail where he was cited and released.
Lynch is just another NFL player this weekend to get arrested. First it was Broncos DE Elvis Dumervil who was accused of aggravated assault with a firearm and then a little before Lynch’s arrest, Cowboys WR Dez Bryant was arrested on a family violence charge.
Speaking of other arrests, this isn’t Lynch’s first trouble for off-field issues. In 2009 (when he played for the Bills) he was suspended three games by the NFL for violating the league’s personal conduct policy. That was after he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor weapons charge.
In 2011, Lynch had a career year. He rushed for 1,204 yards, the most in his career, and 12 touchdowns. Lynch signed a four year contract with the Seahawks back in March.
