Wide receiver Demaryius Thomas has a lot of tremendous athletic ability and that’s why new quarterback Peyton Manning wants to get him involved this season.
“I think Demaryius has had a really good camp,” Manning told reporters Thursday. “Demaryius is a guy that we’re going to feature.”
Thomas caught 32 passes for 551 yards in 2011 while starting five games. He’s expected to contribute more this season than any of his previous seasons. His rookie season was hindered by an injury.
Manning noted that Thomas’ athletic skill set will “allow you to do certain things with him that other players just can’t do.”
Thomas showed those skills during the Broncos playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers last season as he caught an 80-yard touchdown pass in overtime that won them the game.
