The Washington Redskins may have released RB Tim Hightower, but that doesn’t mean they don’t want another running back.
There are reports (Mike Jones from the Washington Post) that Washington is in trade talks that would send WR Anthony Armstrong to the Dolphins and RB Steve Slaton to the Redskins. Slaton would join a crowded backfield. This includes Roy Helu, Evan Royster and emerging rookie Alfred Morris.
Slaton was once thought of to be a future top-back in the NFL. He put up 1,659 rushing and receiving yards and 10 touchdowns (nine rushing, one receiving) his rookie season. He suffered a sophomore slump and then he hasn’t produced at a high level since.
He signed with the Dolphins last season and played in three games.
