The San Francisco 49ers have veteran wide receiver Randy Moss and Michael Crabtree listed as the starting receivers against the Green Bay Packers.
Moss wasn’t used that much in the preseason. He only had one game where he recorded a catch (three rec, 24 yards).
The San Francisco first signed Moss, we weren’t sure how it would end up. It could have been a situation like Chad Johnson in Miami or Terrell Owens in Seattle. Instead, Moss has earned the starting job.
Mario Manningham and Kyle Williams are the backups behind Moss and Crabtree.
Just because Moss is listed as the starter doesn’t mean he’s going to be on the field the entire time. There have been reports that Moss will be on a per-game snap count.
It should be interesting to see how Moss ends up being used in this Niners offense. He’s going against an easier opponent. The Packers were one of the worst pass defenses last season.
